Thuraya’s new value added service is the “Prayer Time” information. The service, which is available through the Thuraya phone provides you with Islamic “Prayer Timings” and the direction of the Kaaba using the GPS coordinates.

Thuraya’s “Prayer Time” service data is provided by “Harf Information Technology”- and international Islamic organization know for its extensive online data and Islamic library.

To obtain the Prayer Time service using the Thuraya Phone, Sunni Muslims need to send as SMS to 1400 while Shia Muslims need an SMS to 1411.

How to obtain the “Prayer Time” Service in the Thuraya phone:
• Access the GPS coordinates of your current location from the Thuraya phone
• Send the GPS coordinates as an SMS to these number:
- 1400 for Sunni Muslims
- 1411 for Shia Muslims
• A return SMS will soon notify you with the Prayer Timing and Qibla directions

What you need to know:
• The Prayer Timing comprise of the 5 Fard prayers plus sunrise timing (Shurooq) in the following format:
• Faje 4:49, Shrooq 6:09, Zuhr 12:06, Asr 15:30, Mageb 18:03, Isha 19:33, Qibla 104 Deg from North counter clockwise.
• The Qibla direction information will be precise and provide degrees in clockwise or counter clockwise from the north.
• The service is available in Thuraya’s coverage area
• The service charge is equal to that of one Thuraya SMS call rate
• There is no activation fee for this service
• The Prayer Time information is as accurate as possible. However it is advised that you make an allowance of 4 of 5 minutes plus or minus in you calculation.

How to access your current GPS:
• Go To Menu
• Select GPS Manager
• Select Current GPS or Continuous GPS
• Upon reading the GPS coordinates, select ‘Options’
